Samsung's plans for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 reportedly include updated versions of classic colors and the same familiar storage configurations.
Samsung, which has always been known for new innovative mobiles, and now with this goal, Samsung is getting ready to launch the 6th generation foldable phones Galaxy Z Fold and The Galaxy Z Flip 6 in 2024 itself. If reports are to be believed, The Phones are likely to be unveiled at the next Galaxy Unpacked Event. As per SamMobile, The Event will be held on 10 July 2024 in Paris, France and a Korean Outlet has now Confirmed this Date too.
The Outlet reports that Samsung aims to "Capitalize on the Special Effects" of the Olympics, which begin on 26 July.
Samsung launched the Galaxy S24 in January which had Snapdragon and in-house Exynos Chipset. The US variant had Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 in the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24+, but other regions had the Exynos 2400 chipset. The South Korean Tech Giant was rumored to use a Dual Chip Strategy for Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip. However a new report says Samsung will use Qualcomm's latest Chipset in these new foldable Phones instead.
Ice Universe has revealed on X/Twitter that the company has made the phone thinner and lighter, giving it a better design. However, Chinese phone manufacturing companies like Oneplus, Oppo, Honor have also entered this field and are thinner and lighter than the Galaxy Z series. And with this Samsung is packing many more innovative features.
With this device being 5.6 mm thin and folded thickness being 12.1 mm and weight reduction at 239 grams, the company aims to give you a more sleek and manageable device without any compromise. These enhancements, including increased resolution for the internal and external displays, reflect Samsung's commitment to improving the foldable experience, making it more attractive and accessible to a wider audience.
As i said, the new offering could be a bit thinner and lighter due to internal changes but The overall design of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 might not be very different from the Galaxy Z Fold5.
According to a Tweet from smartphone supply chain analyst Ross Young, the Galaxy Z Fold 6 might come in six different colours – Dark Blue called Navy, Light Pink, and Silver called Silver Shadow, along with limited edition colour options such as Crafted Black and White.
Interestingly, the price is expected to be similar to that of the standard Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6. According to Young, the Slim model will likely be released in early 2025, alongside the Samsung Galaxy S25. This would be well after the anticipated July release of the standard Z Fold 6, which is expected to launch alongside the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6.
Young also suggests that this model might be the rumored Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra, though its final name remains unconfirmed. If it is the Ultra, we would expect a higher price than the base Z Fold 6.
Regardless, there is additional speculation about a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim. According to Galaxy Club (via SamMobile), there is evidence of both a ‘Q6 Slim’ and a ‘B6 Slim’. Based on Samsung’s typical naming conventions, the former is likely the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Slim, and the latter is probably the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 Slim.
If we talk about the storage of this phone, then we have not received any news of any change in this 2024 foldable. The base storage will remain at 256GB across both devices, with the Flip 6 purportedly topping out at 512GB. The Fold 6 will get a third 1TB storage option, though it will likely be available in limited markets.
Following the launch of the Z Fold 6 and Flip 6, Samsung could offer a promotional deal similar to the Galaxy S24 series, providing pre-order customers with double the storage capacity.
The Galaxy Z Flip's camera quality has typically lagged behind Samsung's flagship models. However, Galaxy Club reports that this might change with the Galaxy Z Flip 6. According to the report, Samsung's next flip phone will come equipped with a 50-megapixel camera, matching the main camera resolution of the Galaxy S24 and S24 Plus.

Additionally, the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event is expected to introduce the Galaxy Watch 7 series and at least one new pair of earphones. Samsung may also delve deeper into its connected services and smart device platforms. Historically, these events have included announcements of special edition variants and partnerships within the industry.
Like many companies, Samsung will likely highlight AI features and capabilities across its devices and ecosystem.
