OPPO Reno 13 Series Chipset Display and Software Confirmed Ahead of Launch

OPPO is finally going to make the long-awaited Reno 13 series debut in China on November 25, 2024, after the huge success of the much-loved Reno 12 series. This new Reno 13 series features a significant upgrade in all sections, promising greater performance, a cutting-edge display experience, and one of the latest software experiences. Let's get started with the confirmed details of the Reno 13 series ahead of the official launch.

OPPO Reno 13 Series

A New Performance Standard

The heart of the OPPO Reno 13 series lies in the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 SoC, a powerhouse chipset promising up to 1.5 times faster performance compared to its predecessors. The exact performance improvements will be revealed post-launch, but the Dimensity 8350 is expected to offer efficient multitasking, superior gaming performance, and seamless AI-driven features.

While the standard and Pro variants of the Reno 13 series are confirmed to be powered by the Dimensity 8350, OPPO may use minor differences in tuning or software optimization to differentiate the two models. This chipset will thus take a considerable step forward as compared to the Dimensity 7300-Energy SoC in the Reno 12 series of India.

Displays with Eye Protection

The OPPO Reno 13 series really pushes display technology to the edge, boasting1.5K resolution screens that make for a truly sharp, colorful, and immersive viewing experience. To further enhance the visual experience, the smartphones also incorporate eye protection technology that reduces strain during extended use.

  • Standard Model: Features a flat display for a clean and traditional look.

  • Pro Variant: Boasts a 6.83-inch quad-curved OLED display, offering a nearly bezel-free design with a seamless blend of curves on all four sides.

Both models will feature a center-aligned punch-hole cutout and ultra-thin bezels, making them visually appealing and modern.

Latest Software Right Out of the Box

The Reno 13 series would be among the first OPPO smartphones shipping with Android 15 overlaid with OPPO's latest ColorOS 15. This pairing promises a refined user experience with a focus on fluid animations, enhanced privacy controls, and innovative multitasking features.

Key software highlights include:

  • Enhanced AI capabilities for better camera performance.

  • Improved battery efficiency with Android 15’s underlying optimization.

  • Seamless integration with OPPO’s ecosystem for wearables and smart devices.

Design and Camera Setup

OPPO is known for design mastery, and the Reno 13 series will be no different. The series is showed with a high camera island housing three rear sensors. The Pro variant should sport a 50MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP telephoto sensor with 3x zooming in capabilities, making it the ultimate device for photography lovers. The front is taken care of by a 50MP selfie camera.

The Reno 13 series will launch in stunning colors, including:

  • Buttery Purple with a gradient finish

  • Midnight Black

  • Galaxy Blue

  • Starlight Pink

Battery and Charging

While OPPO hasn’t revealed the exact battery capacity, the Reno 13 Pro is rumored to pack a 5,900mAh battery, a notable upgrade from the 5,000mAh cell on the Reno 12 Pro. The Pro variant is also expected to support:

  • 80W wired fast charging

  • 50W wireless charging

  • Magnetic wireless charging support

OPPO claims the battery cell will maintain reliable performance for up to five years, ensuring longevity.

The Pro version of the Reno 13 series is said to include a metallic middle frame and IP68/IP69 rating for better water and dust resistance. This upgrade has rendered it stronger than the Reno 12 Pro which carried an IP65 rating.

India Launch Timeline and Expected Pricing

The Reno 13 series is said to arrive in India by January 2025. About two months are left for the Chinese launch. Official pricing details remain not confirmed, and if that happens, then perhaps this Reno 13 Pro will come priced like its predecessor- ₹36,999 for the 12GB+256GB variant and ₹40,999 for the 12GB+512GB model.

Top-end configuration for the Reno 13 Pro will come with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, targeting the power user.

The OPPO Reno 13 series is going to be an impressive successor with powerful performance, a great display, and the latest breakthroughs in software innovations. Just a few days before it launches in China, expectations start building up in all tech enthusiasts around the world. Mark your calendars for November 25, 2024, to officially welcome this new successor of OPPO Reno.
