Google Pay, a leading UPI payments app in India, has unveiled a range of innovative features at the Global Fintech Fest (GFF) 2024. These updates aim to simplify transactions, enhance user experience, and broaden the scope of digital payments. Here's a closer look at the exciting new functionalities that Google Pay users can look forward to:
UPI Circle
The most innovative is UPI Circle where Google Pay account holder can now assign payment capabilities to someone he trusts, even if they do not have bank a/c or setup with UPI. This new UPI Circle allows you to add your dear ones in their Google Pay account, so that they can pay any payments on behalf.
Partial Delegation: You stay in control by approving each transaction initiated by the secondary user. This ensures you can closely monitor all payments.
Full Delegation: You can set a monthly spending limit of ₹15,000, allowing the secondary user to make payments independently within that limit. This feature is perfect for families or small businesses, offering a streamlined way to manage expenses without needing everyone to have a separate bank account.
UPI Vouchers (eRupi)
UPI Vouchers, which started as a means to make vaccination payments during the COVID-19 pandemic, is now being expanded for wider purposes. The feature enables the users to send a voucher, prepaid and linked with recipient mobile number. The receiver can then get these vouchers cashed without having to attach a bank account with UPI. Now UPI Vouchers make digital payments more accessible and convenient — for government programs, corporate gifting or personal use.
Clickpay QR Scan

Thus, this simple method helps to increase use convenience and facilitates quicker, error free bill payments for the users.

With this update, users can now browse and link their prepaid utility accounts - like electricity or housing society bills- from the app itself. With this feature, you can pre-pay your utilities so that there is never a chance of missing out on these crucial payments. It will make it even easier to keep track of all your recurring payments, as more and more utility providers come under this category.
