📰 Apple is no longer developing augmented reality glasses designed to pair with the Mac, reports Bloomberg's Mark Gurman.
🪫 The first rumors about such a device appeared in the summer of 2024. Now, according to the latest information, Apple abandoned the development of the project because of the lack of clear product positioning, as well as because of a technical problem: the glasses were draining the battery of the iPhone very much, so in the later stages of design they were planned to use only with Mac.
📆 At the moment Apple will focus its attention only on the direct successor to Apple Vision Pro and its cheaper version. The former device could come out between fall 2025 and summer 2026, while the latter is rumored not to be expected until at least 2027, but due to the cancellation of lightweight AR glasses, a cheaper version of the Vision Pro could come out sooner.
